Public Records of the Atkinson Energy Efficiency Committee

In keeping with the spirit and intent of New Hampshire's Right-to-Know Law RSA 91-A, this blog is simply a repository of communications related to the Atkinson Energy Efficiency Committee. It will include copies of emails between members, meeting minutes of public meetings, and other documents which the Committee feels should be available to the public.

RE: using Timberlane email

Ouch - talk about the most non-green way.

If the Selectmen do allow these copies to be made at Town Hall can we put the information on half of the paper - i.e. two per page then cut them.  The two per page is more physical work but less paper.

Hi All,

Since we have no budget, making copies for the shuttle is problematic.  Perhaps we should ask the Selectmen if we could make them at Town Hall.

Committee members,

Last night we talked about using the Atkinson Academy email as a tool to advertise the October 8th meeting. I checked with our Superintendent about using the school districts email account. He is not comfortable with that idea and went so far as to point out two school policies that speak out against that action. I have attached the two policies for your reading pleasure.

He is OK using the school shuttle for non-controversial student relevant info and public notices.

Hope this helps,

Michael

RE: I can NOT make the meeting tonight

Hmmm, how come my challenge results only yield a CO2 saved of 1,883 and you were able to save 31,142 lbs.   Either I am already being a good consumer or I didn’t enter all the information properly.

My apologies for last minute.  Something came up and I will not be able to make a meeting tonight.

I *did* complete the New Hampshire Carbon Challenge with a total CO2 savings of 31, 412 lbs.  Even though there were many items in the survey that we have already taken action on, I listed them as "I will do" - so it would calculate the savings.

Some highlights include:  replacing 22 light bulbs with CFLs, driving an average of 15 miles less per week, replace old refrigerator, air-dry dishes and laundry, recycle metal, plastic, glass, and paper, stop junk mail.

For next week ...

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that we will be meeting next week on Wednesday, Sept 17th at 7pm at the Town Hall.  Please go online to the nhcarbonchallenge.org and take the challenge.  Please keep a list of the things you have committed to doing and their associated CO2 reductions.  We'll add those to the PowerPoint.

A good website to review - easy to learn tips for increasing fuel economy by 15%.  http://www.ecodrivingusa.com/  Might want to add it to the blog ...

See you on Wednesday!

Michelle
