I haven't read this new guide from Clean Air - Cool Planet yet, but will in the next couple of days.  I wanted to forward it to all of you for your review in considering retrofits at the Historical Society.  I hope this contains useful information.  Please feel free to share with others.  http://www.cleanair-coolplanet.org/for_communities/HDCGuide.pdf

Tree Lighting

Hi All,

Christine Lewis Morse invited the Energy Committee to have a table at the tree lighting at the Country Club on December 3rd.  I am going to contact Rebecca and ask for some hand-outs on their home audit program, as well as the nhsaves catalog.  I will man the table and hope someone else would like to join me.  It runs from 5:30 to 8:30.

Fair on Saturday and Meeting on Monday

Hi All,

Our Energy Fair is scheduled from 9:30 to 12:30.  The library will open at 9am for us to set up.  Please arrive then, so we can help vendors with set-up and get chairs, tables and our displays in order.  Jim, please let Unitil know.

Judy got approximately 150 reusable bags from local stores - way to go Judy!!  Not to mention the beautiful posters that Paul did for us.  THANK YOU!

The library has a coffee pot.  I will bring coffee and grab some donuts and muffins.  I will put out the library's sandwich board announcing the fair tomorrow morning with balloons.

ALSO, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL OUT TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS INVITING THEM TO ATTEND AND ASKING THEM TO FORWARD THE ANNOUNCEMENT TO THEIR EMAIL CONTACTS IN THE AREA.

The Rockingham County meeting ended early on Monday, so I was able to attend the Selectman meeting and I did make the announcement about the Energy Fair toward the end of the meeting.

Subject: Energy Fair Announcement

Hi All,

None of the AEC members are in town on Monday evening.

Would it be possible for one of you to announce the Atkinson Energy Committee's Energy Fair at the Kimball Library on Saturday, 11/7 from 9:30 until 12:30?  The fair has "rolling 10 minute presentations" (they repeat every hour) on energy saving tips for this winter, how to do an energy audit of your home and available funding from state and federal sources to lower the costs of your energy saving retrofits and renewable energy opportunities.  Unitil will distribute free compact fluorescents, while supplies last.

Residents of Atkinson and surrounding towns are invited to attend.  Attendees can drop in for a few minutes or stay for a half an hour and listen to presentations.

Many thanks!
Michelle

P.S. Barbara, if you have emails for surrounding town selectmen's offices, would you mind forwarding this?

Planning Board Meeting to review Master Plan Chapter

Hi All,

We are on the Planning Board's agenda on Wednesday night to review at 7:30 the Energy Chapter for the Master Plan.  Once they review it and we make changes, they will schedule it for a couple of public hearings.  Please plan on attending the meeting on Wednesday, if at all possible.

Jim, questions came up about legislation, etc. so it would be great if you could be there to answer those questions.
