Next meeting

Hi Everyone,
 
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 13th.  Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. 
 
Also, Julie Labranche from the Rockingham Planning Commission would like to meet with us.  She has done some research on crafting a chapter on EE for Atkinson buildings and would like to discuss what she's found and get input from us before proceeding.  Could we collectively schedule a workshop meeting with her early in April in place of our regular meeting?
 
I would like to have everyone there, so that we are all on the same page.  The following are the nights that she CANNOT attend.  Please let me know your availability, keeping these restrictions in mind.
 
Wed 4/8, Wed 4/15, Thurs 4/16, and Tues 4/21
 
I am not available 4/6, 4/8, 4/13 or 4/14 .

Recycling Competition

Hi Everyone,
 
Can I ask that someone volunteer to head up the effort on the recycling bin competition?  I have a big expo coming up in less than a month for work (New England wide) and I'm afraid I'll let something drop in the midst of deadlines for work.
 
Judy started the ball rolling with a rough draft of the competition description.  I have one Girl Scout troop that interested in participating and Michael M. was going to check on another.  Any takers?

P.S.  I'll be at the Planning Board meeing tonight to talk about our efforts with Rockingham Planning Commission to write a section for the Master Plan on energy efficient town buildings (new construction and maintenance).

Talk with Atkinson Selectmen/AEE Committee

I am on the Atkinson Energy Efficiency Committee with Michael.  Most importantly, I want to congratulate and thank you for your tremendous work to make our schools operate at such high levels of efficiency!
 
I entered one year of data for the Atkinson Town Hall into the EPA Performance Track and found the building was only operating in the 48the percentile nationally.  I was a little shocked to be honest, since the Town Hall has a geothermal system in place to reduce heating and cooling needs.  I plan to enter more data to see whether the transition to a new well/pump for the system could have lowered performance.  We are beginning work with the Rockingham Planning Commission and Clean Air Cool Planet to further evaluate town buildings and develop a "road map" for our energy efficiency planning.
 
I was hoping that you might consider coming to talk with the committee and Selectmen about how you've used the performance track data to become more energy efficient and also about your work the Jordan Institute.  Please let me know if you would be able to share some of your time and expertise with Atkinson.
