FW: recycling bin competition

Hi All,

Judy has put together the the start of the competition description.  I would add the text in blue.  I'm hoping everyone can help to further this.  Michael - any luck with the Boy Scouts?  Denise - could you help us with contacts for the Girls Scouts?  I would also suggest that we limit the competition to five groups.  We should also attach a scanned copy of the Waste Mgmt flyer to make sure that the group has the correct list of recyclable items.

Thanks,

Michelle

Hi Michelle,
Is this the sort of description we need?  Do we need more info/details at this point, or just this basic idea?

The Atkinson Energy  Efficiency Committee would like to have a competition between a few youth groups to create Recycling Displays using the recycling bin as a base, and creatively displaying the types of waste that can be recycled at the curbside.  The aim is to increase recycling participation in the town through increased awareness and education.  The bin displays would be placed prominently at Town Hall (encouraging new residents to pick one up while they are there), the library, and the community center.  Each group would work together to create one display.  We are contacting local businesses to see if they would provide prizes for the winners.

A recycling bin can be picked up at the Selectmen's office at Town Hall.  Entries should be dropped off at the Town Hall between April 20th and April 22nd for judging.

I suspect before we send this out to any youth groups we'll need to add a few more details like where, when and how the competition would be judged, and probably a lot more that I can't think of at the moment.
