RE: Town Building Audits

Michelle, All

I can attend for a couple/few hours. Sounds like Marty is available for most of the day.

Michelle, if you could tell me what time you need to leave for your meeting, I can cover that remaining time. Then Marty & I will spend time with Ed.

Michael

Town Building Audits

Hi Everyone,

Ed Mailloux of Unitil will do a energy efficiency walk-through of all of our town buildings on Tuesday with David Weymouth. Ed will be at the Town Hall on Tuesday at 9:30. I will try to stay for most of the walk-throughs, but I have a seminar up north the next day and need some time to prepare last minute registrations, etc. Can anyone else do part of the day? I think it's important that the committee is aware of recommendations and concerns that might not end up in a final report.

Atkinson Energy Fair

Hi everyone,

Update here on my end. I thought the energy fair went very well Saturday. The vendors did a wonderful job with their displays and information. I look forward to next years fair.

After the fair on Saturday night, my wife and I took an inventory of every light bulb in the house and went shopping. We replaced almost every bulb in our home with a CFL. There were a lot of bulbs to change. We had trouble locating a dimmable version of the CFL in the stores but did find them online.

Any suggestions as to what to do with all the incandescent bulbs that we took out? I would hate to toss them.

Our emails will now be on-line for the public to read

Dear Atkinson Energy Efficiency Committee:
Our Committee now has two sites on the world wide web (internet).
1) We have a new Atkinson Energy Efficiency Committee blog site on the web:
See the link:
The goal of this blog will be to educate the public with ideas, events, feedback, etc. to help us fulfill our mission.
2) We have a related blog site on the web where all of our emails, meeting minutes and related documents will be posted for all to see:
See the link:
This is the site where the public will be able to see our records. (both sites are linked to each other).

Public Records of the Atkinson Energy Efficiency Committee

In keeping with the spirit and intent of New Hampshire's Right-to-Know Law RSA 91-A, this blog is simply a repository of communications related to the Atkinson Energy Efficiency Committee. It will include copies of emails between members, meeting minutes of public meetings, and other documents which the Committee feels should be available to the public.

So, starting with this email, every email we send to each other will be posted on the AtkinsonSunshine blog site. Remember the rules about email. If we email each other it can only be to INFORM, not to discuss, deliberate or decide policy issues. That can only be done in open public meetings, which have been duly noticed in advance.

So, as they say, be careful what you say in your emails. If you don't want what you write to end up on the front page of the New York Times (or Union Leader, or Eagle Tribune), don't write it.

The Atkinson Energy Efficiency Committee will not only set the standard for energy effficiency in Atkinson, we will set the standard for open government in Atkinson.
